About

Taras Perevarukha is a Ukrainian photographer based in London. He works with photography as a physical practice, making prints, books, and objects where image and material exist together.
He was born in Donetsk, eastern Ukraine. In 2014, the war forced him to leave. A later move to the United Kingdom added another layer of distance from place, from language, from familiar ground. This experience of displacement runs quietly through all of his work. Not as subject matter, but as a way of seeing.
His photographs focus on stillness, transition, and the moment before things change. Villages emptying. Landscapes pausing. Objects that carry time in their surface. He is drawn to what remains and to what is about to disappear.
He works slowly. In small editions. On personal projects that take years to complete. For him, a photograph exists in the real world, with weight, texture, and time inside it.
He believes in incompleteness. In silence as a form of meaning. In the space between what is shown and what is left unsaid.
