Shadow of soul. 2020 Each image is a composite of around one hundred photographs made in a single session. Layered, accumulated, compressed into one.

The process was deliberate. I wanted to move away from the recognisable portrait, from the fixed moment, from the surface of a face. When enough images are placed on top of each other, the specific disappears. What remains is something else, movement, presence, the feeling of a person rather than their appearance.

Not who they are. But that they are.
